Dear Endeavor Families,
Hello and Happy Summer!
August is here which means it’s time to start thinking about GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!  We are looking forward to a fabulous school year and hope you are too.
In addition to Team Time and fabulous reading and math activities, a few things to look forward to next year are:
With Mrs. Crowther:
➢    Human Body Studies
➢    Studying heat, light, and sound
➢    U.S geography
➢    Vermont studies

With Mrs. Baldwin:
➢    Bubbleology
➢    Weather and space
➢    World geography
➢    American History (1754-1781)

Below are a few important dates and events to be aware of:
Monday and Tuesday, August 23rd &24th – Family conferences
Wednesday, September 1st  – First Day of School
Friday, September 10th – Field Trip to Shelburne Farms (Yes! we will need chaperones - 4 /class)
Monday, September 20th  - Curriculum Night

Please see the attached schedule for conference times.   Email your child’s teacher (pbaldwin@cssu.org, or ccrowther@cssu.org) with your top three time slots as soon as you can.  If you do not have access to the internet, please call and leave a message with your child’s teacher – Mrs. Baldwin –425-3366,  Mrs. Crowther - 310-1686.   We will get back to you to confirm your conference time.

Curriculum Night is scheduled for Monday, September 20th from 6-7:30 p.m.  It will begin in our kiva and is for parents only.  Curriculum night is an important presentation that will give Endeavor families a chance to learn about our daily schedule, homework expectations, classroom organization, and our curriculum.  We hope to see you all there.

Many of you may already know that Cara Crowther will be out on maternity leave at the beginning of the year.  However, I will still be available via email, will attend summer conferences, and will continuously communicate with the long term substitute throughout her time in the classroom.  The substitute will be Katie McGrain, a licensed teacher that has both experience at SCS and with 4th and 5th grade.

And finally, below you can find a list of supplies to bring to school with you. Your supplies and personal items should be clearly labeled.
Enjoy the rest of your summer.  We look forward to meeting with you soon!
