Events and Programs 2010/2011

FALL

 

Teacher’s Breakfast: Monday, August 30.  A delicious welcome back to our devoted teachers and staff.  (Call Sarah Vincent 985-1549 ASAP if you’d like to help!)

 

First day of School Welcome: Wednesday, September 1.  Smiling volunteers will be on hand at all entrances of the school to welcome students and answer questions. Sonny Sammut 985-8637

 

School Directory: Early September.  A directory of phone numbers/addresses of all SCS students and families, including teachers’ contact info.  Also a directory of Shelburne businesses. Leslie Borrok 985-3829

 

Gift Wrap Sale:  Sales run September 14 - 29; pick-up orders Thursday, October 28.  Our largest fundraiser of the year!  Plan now to stock up on all your gift-wrap needs for the coming year.  Ginger Williamson 985-3010.

 

Newberry Cup Sales: Saturday, October 16. Look for a huge selection of baked goodies for sale at the soccer tournament. Margaret Ottinger 985-5896.

 

WINTER

 

Holiday Fair:  Saturday, December 4.  A Great Community Event!  Team and student crafts & goodies for sale.  Enjoy a great day of shopping and fun for the whole family.  Sharon Harkness 985-9050 and  Wendy Hallock 985-2649.

 

Holiday Food and Coats for Kids:  Early December.  Our annual school-wide service project, collecting food and clothing for those in need.  Jan Thabault 985-5647 and Sarah Vincent 985-1549.

 

International Potluck Dinner:  Friday, January 21, 6-7:30 PM.  Bring your favorite international cuisine to share and have some fun family time with other SCS families.  Lynda Maitland 985-9280 and Alice Brown 985-4918

 

Red Barn Food Fundraiser: VT cookie doughs, cheesecakes, chocolates  & King Arthur Flour mixes.  Orders start January 7.  Pick up outside Gym doors Thursday, February 10, 2:30 – 6 :00 PM.  Alice Brown 985-4918.

 

Get Out the Vote:  February 28.  Volunteers will be calling all SCS families with a reminder to vote Tues. 3/1.

 

Dynamic Dates: April. In this fun event, teachers/staff provide ‘dates’ for students to win. Kim Schmitt, 985-3260.

 

SPRING

 

5^th Grade Performance: Thursday evening, April 7.  Culmination of  5^th graders’ week with songwriter Jon Gailmor.

 

Staff Appreciation Luncheon:  Tuesday, May 10.  A noon-time feast to thank our faculty and staff for a great school year.  Betty Jean Bogue 985-4039
